Critical gap at the level of Windows exploited in espionage operations

Revealed a group of security experts for their discovery of a serious loophole and is known in some Windows systems, this critical gap enabled a group of hackers affiliated with the Russian government to conduct electronic espionage and attacks against the interests of some countries and Western organizations.

According to the report of the company's security (iSight Partners), the experts had discovered a critical gap at the level of some Microsoft systems (Windows Vista, and Windows 8.1 as well as Windows Server) and report pointed out that this loophole was exploited by a group of hackers to spy and attack the interests of some Western countries.

The report notes that a group of hackers exploited this loophole bearing the name (Sandworm) and active since 2009 and worked for the Russian authorities and had to exploit this loophole undiscovered and dangerous and classified by type (zero-day), and according to experts, the security company The hackers targeted in particular the Ukrainian government and sites belonging to NATO and telecommunications companies and Western officials. 

And Microsoft prepares to develop a security update to fix this gap in the near future.
